Information and FAQ's about your pet's health! --By your groomer, Stacy Daily, I am asked about skin and coat issues with dogs coming into the Salon for grooming. For some, it's a simple recommendation of using conditioner after shampooing and recommending conditioner and water to spray on your pets skin and coat before you brush so the hair is not broken and making it mat up so easily. Some may just need to remember pet's skin and coats dry out just like ours in winter use a humidifier. What shampoos and conditioners do I recommend? I recommend only two lines of products. These products are for dogs and cats and are made with Natural ingredients, enhancing and giving me the results I need and want in my show dogs and cats. Many pets I have been grooming lately, need much more more than that. It's dry skin, smelly skin, smelly breath, bad teeth, anal gland issues, hair and coat is totally damaged from chemicals, sanitation, uneducated owners on great care or bad nutrition and on and on. Many of these pet's owners are seeking groomers and vets for help. I really want to educate owners and help them rather than just say 'see your vet and get a pill or shot.' I, as a professional groomer, can work from the skin out, You as the owner, need to work from the mouth to the skin. I try to just reply with "You are what you eat!" Secondly, as a Professional Groomer, I too, want your pet to be the 'Champion' it really is.. even if it never enters a show ring! I can groom to hide what the coat and skin are lacking, but I would much rather groom your pet faster, not staying all day with me and the outcome be fantastic by 'enhancing' what is true and what is there, not just looking good by creating things and hiding! What's wrong with living with a GORGEOUS pet? "Well, I have been feeding 'XXX" Brand for years." As some dogs do great on certain foods for a while, most will only go so long and then show signs of poor nutrition or lacking in some vitamins. For instance, I love Mt.Dew and Chocolate. I can live on it alone for a while, I can even go a long time with that in my diet for many years daily. Then, one day I show signs of getting sick more often, breakouts and eventually realizing with my age, eating healthier will make me feel and look better. !!Yes Mom, I have changed to better eating and I occassionally have the chocolate now! I have become healthier and feel better, I am still able to do the things I could 20 years ago and still the same size jeans as 20 years ago. "Why did you switch from your past food and on to Life's Abundance?" As usual, I found my pets doing great for sometime and some of my pets were not adjusting very well. I kept switching foods until all of mine could eat the same foods and not be sick, not need extra special shampoos and not need any medications. It seemed every food I tried with my pets, formulas were changing, recalls were happening and I got sick of seeing this happen to my pets! I kept a journal of my pet's progress on each food to help me remember exact dates and keep up with any problems that arose. When 50% of my dogs began showing signs of food intolerance, I had to switch! "How did you find the foods?" I learned from my Ragdoll Breeder and Friend that there was a great food and she was a Field Representitive! I used to be a Representitive for a Major pet food brand and I too had many questions and needed to compare many things! In looking for a great food for all my pets, as I can't always make theirs daily, I searched for what I needed.. Food for puppies through seniors, Food for kittens and cats. Life's Abundance is for ALL LIFE Stages. I searched for ingredients.. Ingredients that did not contain Chemicals, coloring, soy, by-products and all natural. Something I could rely on at all times and not always make my food. Vet bills for shots, pills, shampoos, to heal or help with itching,etc.. on average $100.00. Sleepless nights with worry for your pet from chewing, itching, etc. $$$.$$ of your health! I use my All natural shampoos, no itching, etc. I don't have the skin and coat issues, I don't see vet unless it's for our standards of shots, checkup, microchip, health certificate, or emergency with something like a C-section. My bills are way lower with my show team than most with one or two dogs. "How"?? This is what I would recommend and what I did .. Take a picture before you feed your dog or cat. It takes time to adjust. Keep your patience and not upset their digestive tract so fast. 'Rome wasn't built in a day!!"--Trust me, I don't have much patience, but I had to! Now track the progress. Put your hands on your pet. Comb or brush them, bath them, walk / run with them, . each week, update your journal. I know your pet will end their journal entry with the same entries my pets did .. "My pet's are eating so much less now, small firm stools, coat and skin are looking and feeling great, breath smells better, teeth are looking whiter, older dogs are doing wonderful with more energy and all blood work is coming back 'GREAT!" Here are some of my Journal entries lately!! "My 14yr old Eskie, Sugar, is amazingly vibrant, moving much faster and again starting to jump over things again!" "My 2 Doberman Pinschers do not have 'obscene gas' any longer!" My 2 Chinese Cresteds are not breaking out and having dry skin any more!" My Ragdolls are not having a lot of smell or stool volume in the litter boxes!" "My cats now do not have the major problems with hairballs!" "My Eskies are not tearing like they used to!" "Houdini, my 13 yr old Eskie is just as goofy now again as he was as a puppy!" "I am not feeding my Doberman Pinschers 8 cups of food a day on the previous foods anymore to keep their weights, they are eating 3.5 cups a day now and looking wonderful!" "My Toy Eskies are only needing 1/2 the amount of food a day now and keeping their weights even with running them!" "My cats are not leaving shedding balls of fur nor scratching themselves anymore." "My Eskies feet are turning white again, they stopped the licking and chewing!" "I am not bathing them as often as before, they don't have the staining adhereing now to their coats with the red clay here in SC." "Brushing and combing is showing not very much hair coming out like it was before!" "Our puppies have grown at a even rate!" "The constant dry coats are now gone. I don't need the conditioner as heavy". "I am finding it harder to poop scoop in the dog yard, the poop is so much smaller!" _ALL from my journal here at StaFra!
