StaFra is situated on 23 acres with 2 creeks and a waterfall in Upstate South Carolina. We are less than 2.5 hours from three major airports (Atlanta, GA; Greenville, SC; and Charlotte, NC).
How It All Started
Stacy grew up in Northern Illinois. As a child, she grew up with Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. The first dog she had ever shown was her dog "Clearwater Point Spike" aka Spike, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He was laid to rest May 1, 1988, at the age of 11.5 years old. Her sister, Paula and family in Illinois, are active in hunting, fishing and still today raise and breed the versitile and beautiful breed, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
Frank grew up in Central Illinois. As a child, he grew up with Poodles and 'pedigree challenged' pets. He was not active in the dog world until he married Stacy in 1992.
In 1990, Stacy had owned Collies and started showing in Conformation and was active in training Obedience and Agility. "Levi", Stacy's male Collie achieved his "CGC title" aka Canine Good Citizen title. Levi loved obedience and agility, but did not like the conformation ring. It was not the end of the road for Levi, as he was their family companion, helped Stacy teach Obedience to adults and 4-H children, many types of teachings at schools, salon greeter and Stacy and Frank's example for what to always have in temperament, health, brains and beauty. "Levi" was laid to rest at 11.5 years old.
While exploring many breeds while grooming and in obedience, Stacy set her heart on the American Eskimo Dog.
Morgan's American Eskimos (now known as Stafra) was established in 1994 with our first Eskie, "Morgan's Sugar Baby." Although just a UKC registered pet, she is was Stacy's baby. Just before Sugar turned 18 yrs old in 2011, Sugar passed away.
In 1997, we started competing in the AKC and UKC show rings with our first show Eskie "AKC Ch. Morgan's Tiffany of Sycamore."
We have shown 8 of our own Eskies to AKC Conformation Championships, 2 of their Eskies to UKC Conformation Championships and have produced 5 AKC and 3 UKC Conformation Champions to date. We've been invited twice to the AKC Eukanuba National Championships with 2 of our Eskies, many Best of Breed placements, group placements, Top 10 and Top 20 ranking AKC and UKC Eskies owned/shown/bred by us. Many of our puppies have proven successful in obedience, rally, agility, conformation, therapy, herding and terrific companions.
In 2009-- After 20 Terrific years, we no longer breed our dogs. We are hoping to stay showing dogs occasionally.
In 2010 we stopped breeding and showing our Eskies.
Since then we've added TICA and CFA Registered Ragdoll cats to our show team.
In 2004, we started a bit of showing with one of our Chinese Cresteds.
In July 2005, we moved from Illinois to South Carolina.
In 2008, we added Ragdoll cats to our showteam.
In 2010-- Our StaFra Pet Resort is Open! We are very excited to be the very first in Anderson, SC to have official 'Suites" for pets! It's exciting to be able to enjoy time running trails, paw painting and more with our retired show dogs and share it with other's pets as well!
In 2010-- Stacy competed in her first Grooming Competition at the All American Grooming Show in Illinois. "Rosa"- a loving Giant Schnauzer was loaned for the grooming competition by her owner Candi. Sadly, at this show, "Rosa" was found with large lymphnodes, therefore, Stacy could not place in the AAGS. "Rosa" was diagnosed and passed away a few months later with cancer. Stacy will always be grateful to have known her. Although Stacy did not place in the competition, she had a great time!! She is looking forward to pursuing more dog grooming competitions in the future.

We will keep our site updated to let you know how they continue to excel.
StaFra dogs owned by us and others are currently being shown and bred. Showing in AKC and UKC earning their Conformation Championships and others are out earning their points for Championships and titles in agility, obedience and therapy. They are in the USA and Canada.
We are excited about the opportunities of the future with those that are continuing to grow with our lines and dogs.
